Lets not pretend. We all have them. Some a little more embarrassing than others but either way they perk us up when we’re feeling down and get us a little giddy. Guilty pleasures can be anything from a cheesy chick flick to a certain food you know you shouldn’t be eating. So below are my 5 guilty pleasures ranging from the not so embarrassing to the ‘Oh my god I can’t believe I’ve just told you that!!!”. Enjoy!

5. RegiftingYes this is exactly what it means. When you get a gift of someone for a birthday or at christmas and you know your not going to use it. Maybe you don’t even like the gift. So what we tend to do as a family is put them into a box and when it’s someones birthday or we are struggling with christmas gifts we go and have a root around the box. Maybe this is more of a secret I shouldn’t share but its such a cost-effective thing to do. Especially if you know someone else will love it and make more use out of it. I’ve done it quite a few times. Once we gave my Nana a pair of slippers one christmas and the following year my mum received the same gift back. I don’t do it all the time though but if you do happen to receive a gift from me then have fun working out if it’s a regift! …Plus it’s the thought that counts right?

mooboo4. Kissing my Cats. I tend to do this a lot. I love my cats and I’m not ashamed to admit it. I even talk to them…Ok, maybe I’m starting to sound a little crazy but they just look up at your with their big eye AND they don’t talk back! Maybe it’s not the most hygienic thing in the world but who cares?! Life would be so dull without Princess Baba and Maisie Moo. I will forever be the Crazy Cat Lady!

3. Daily Mail. I can’t go a day without my Daily Mail fix. I have to keep up to date with all the celebrity gossip and what’s going on in the world. I know they tend to print a lot of rubbish and that we shouldn’t listen to what the papers say but I’m addicted to the site. I told myself once that I should stop so I tried not looking at the website for 3 days and It was horrible! I felt as though I knew nothing about the celebrity world. I mean come on…I found out 3 days after everyone else that Kylie Jenner had died her hair blonde!…HELLO…MAJOR NEWS!!!

2. The Sound of Music. That’s right. My ALL TIME FAVOURITE FILM! This was all I ever watched at my Grandma’s from the age of 4. To be honest It was the only video my Grandma and Grandad had that was in colour! The music, the children, the dancing! It was all so exciting and fun! I remember sleepover’s at Grandma’s consisted of us reenacting the ‘so long, farewell’ scene before bed. We would have my younger brother as little Gretel, I’d be Liesl and my sister would play Louisa. We’d then insist on acting out the entire song from the lyrics to the ending, where I’d carry my little brother up the stairs and wave my Grandma goodbye at the top of the stairs. She’d always nail the deep voiced Goodbye at the end!…Ahh childhood. It still is to this day my favourite film and It’ll always be my ‘go to’ film when I’m feeling a duvet day. I also had a little crush on the Captain. I still do now when I watch the film…until I get told that Christopher Plummer Is now 85! But it was his arrogance and power that I liked. The ‘Rowboat Argument’ scene is a personal favourite.

1. Cheesy 90’s Pop music. If I could only listen to one playlist for the rest of my life, it would be a cheesy 90’s pop music playlist. All the classics…Steps, S Club 7, Atomic Kitten, Spice Girls, Take That, Sugababes, Savage Garden, Blue, Britney Spears, Westlife and Boyzone. They’re all in there. I’m proud to have been born in this era and to have had these artists in the Charts every week. I probably know nearly all of the words to many of their songs. As soon as I hear a cheesy classic I’m up on my feet dancing and singing. It’s hard to resist the 5,6,7,8 dance routine…

So there you have it. My Top 5 Guilty (and slightly embarrassing) Pleasures. What are yours?…

I’m now going to go and hide under a massive rock…

Sincerely, Sophie x
