They define obsession as being too interested in something and the inability to stop thinking about it. We all have those TV programs we watch religiously on a monday night or an album we listen to on repeat on our playlists. Sometimes, we even have a certain meal that we always choose from the menu, despite promising ourselves ‘I’ll order something different this time!’.

We all have our own obsessions. Normal or weird, but, they’re what makes us who we are. So, I thought I’d dedicate this post to sharing my many obsessions with you…and believe me, a few are a little strange…

Sam Hunt. Have you heard of Sam Hunt? He’s an American country singer and songwriter. He’s awesome! Honestly, no word of a lie, I’m completely hooked on his music…and his face. He’s just beautiful. My personal favourites are ‘Take your time’ and ‘Leave the night on’. If you don’t already know who he is then I’d encourage you to take a look at his music here via YouTube. Your Welcome.

Impractical Jokers. These guys are just hilarious!! Without fail, every time I watch their show I cry laughing. It’s so funny! If you haven’t already seen this then where have you been?!! Just kidding, but, you can catch them on Comedy Central (the Friends channel) everyday. Basically, 4 best friends, Murr, Sal, Joe and Q all challenge one another to different dares whilst in public. If they complete the dare then they receive a green thumb, however, if they fail then they receive a red thumb and are added to the loser board. At the end of each episode, the loser (with the most red thumbs) must perform a mortifying challenge set by the other 3 guys. I think the fact that they are best friends and their chemistry make the show work so well. Plus, the reaction of the public is always hilarious!impractical jokers

Pasta. I must eat pasta at least 5 times a week. I don’t actually know if eating pasta is good or bad for you? Either way, the answer won’t stop me from eating it. My favourite has to be the ‘Pollo Pasta’ I get from a little stall on the Chorley Market. The ‘Pollo’ consists of penne pasta in a creamy tomato sauce with chicken and bacon. The place is called ‘Pizza Pronto’ and it makes the BEST HOMEMADE pasta and pizza dishes ever! I was introduced to this little place by a girl in work and it’s the best thing anyone could have told me. I tend to buy from them in my lunch break at work or after work if i’m on a 3pm finish. A definite recommendation if you are struggling to find some nice home cooked food on your lunch break! You can find their Twitter page here!

Victoria’s Secret. Need I say more? Did you manage to catch up with the latest Victoria’s Secret Show? It looked amazing! Plus, this year saw Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner walk the runway for the first time and they looked absolutely incredible!! The show gets bigger and better every year and so does my dream of becoming one of the angels. Just like every other girl in the country! Obviously, I know it’ll only ever be a dream but I do have plans to do a VS styled shoot within the next few months with the wings also! It’s going to be amaze!!!

Celebrity Gossip. I can’t live without my daily ‘Cosmopolitan’ or ‘Daily Mail’ fix (Despite some of the bullsh*t they like to write). I need to know what’s happening in the world of ‘Celebrity’ at all times!

The Walking Dead. The only thing that gets me through a miserable monday is knowing that I’ll be watching The Walking Dead that night. You’d think that 6 seasons in and every disaster possible that the show would be nearing it’s end, but it just keeps getting better! The storylines are forever keeping us on edge and the ‘walkers’ get more gruesome with each episode. Ric is just beautiful too!ric

True Stories. Be it Ghost, Murders, Missing people or the Unexplained, I enjoy reading about these sorts of things. I just find it all so interesting and intriguing. I can’t imagine the sort of sick and twisted people that could do such disgusting things, but, it’s the mystery side to it that pulls me in.

Photography. Anyone who knows me knows that my life is centred around photography. I live, eat and breathe it. I think about it for at least 50% of my day and I’m always thinking of ways to better myself and improve my skill. I’m very proud of what I’ve achieved (Take a look at my website here!) and how far I’ve come in 5 years but I’m nowhere near where I want to be and I won’t rest until I’ve achieved all my dreams. So, if my obsession with photography irritates you now, then hold on tight, it’s about to get a whole lot worse!

Hallmark Channel. Have you heard of the Hallmark Channel? It’s an American television network that airs both Films and TV series’ and is partly owned by Hallmark Cards. I’m hooked. The films are actually quite cheesy and obvious but I love them! I especially like the Christmas films they show. And don’t judge me but I’ve actually been watching them online since August…

Black. All I wear is black. If you ask any of my friends and family to describe my fashion style they will all say ‘She wears black all the time!’ which is true. I prefer to wear dark colours over bright colours. I just feel black is a slimming and comfortable colour. It also goes with EVERYTHING!!

Smelling Nice. This has been an obsession of mine since high school. At that age you are learning how to look after yourself and experimenting with what suits you. I remember spending my pocket money on little sample fragrances from bodycare in town on a saturday afternoon. They were only about £2.00 each but I felt so grown up buying new fragrances each week…even if they did only last 2 days. Even now I pack both deodorant and perfume in my handbag and spray them both more often than I should. At least I’m always smelling nice!

Looking Perfect. This is a struggle every girl faces everyday. The depressive state of not feeling good enough. You have to have this seasons must have wardrobe, the body of a model, the latest makeup must haves and the hottest hairstyle! Why can’t I just be Miranda Kerr?

Finding Mr Right. When I was a little girl I grew up watching films like The Sound of Music, Cinderella and The Notebook. The message of the film always said that one day you will meet your prince. That one person who you will laugh with, dance with and love for the rest of your life. I’d be told stories of love happening at a young age and that you’d meet him in a nightclub or at a friends party. But, I’ve come to the realization that Fairytales don’t exist! And Prince Charming isn’t going to come and rescue you from your bedroom window! I’ve given love a chance on quite a few occasions and I’ve found that it just spits everything you’d hoped for right back at you. I know I sound a little cynical and morbid but I just don’t have much faith in ‘Mr Right’. He’s clearly taken a few wrong turns along the way and got lost!

The Future. I annoy myself with this. I’m forever obsessing over where I am in life and what my future holds. I can’t go a day without worrying about something to do with the future and it sucks. I feel like I’m aging so fast but my life is at a halt. I know I’ll never change as it’s who I am but I wish that for just a day I’d stop obsessing about my future and live for the moment.

There you have my current obsessions. Although, they will probably change within the next few weeks as I’m known for having my ‘Phases’. One day I’ll love chocolate cake and will eat it religiously every day for a while and then the next thing you know, I’ll hate it.

What about you? Do you have any weird obsessions?

Let me know!

Sincerely, Sophie x
