Being photographed is not a usual thing for me. Normally it’s me holding the camera and directing the posing but on Monday the tables had turned and I had the lens pointing at me for a change. I’m not going to lie, it was pretty daunting and actually quite nerve-wracking, but, once I got into the swing of it all I actually really enjoyed myself!

I do a lot of my photography work with my friend Steff. We both have a Photobooth Business together and we plan on launching our wedding photography business early next year. We met about 2 years ago now but we have become the best of friends! We both have hopes and dreams and it was our passion for photography that developed our friendship. I can’t imagine life without her now!

Anyway, I went round to Steff’s house on Monday night to help celebrate her birthday. We ordered Chinese and drank Wine…It was great! (When we meet up, you can guarantee that 70% of our conversation is photography related!) But, we decided that this was a great opportunity to get some new headshots of ourselves for our blogs and other businesses. We decided on a ‘Terry Richardson‘ theme…yes quite a sexy direction but we knew that if we did it right then it would look great!

So, we got out a few essential props, such as Cute Minnie Mouse Ears, a Camera and a of course a Sombrero! We then ensured we had the correct lighting. Terry’s photos tend to be shot against a white background and slightly over-exposed to create that flawless look. Once the lighting was nailed, it was time to change into our outfits and crack on with the shoot!

Normally, I don’t like to get my stomach out but I decided to step out of my comfort zone and wear something I wouldn’t usually wear. I knew my bra had to be on show somehow so I decided on a beautiful sheer lace black crop top and my puffy black and white striped short skirt…which was VERY short, I’d actually forgotten how short! I then finished the look with the ‘Bed Head’ look and a plum coloured lipstick to add a little sex appeal. Again, not something I’d usually wear.

The Shoot was AMAZING! I had so much fun with it. A few photos I won’t be sharing online but my favourites you can see below;

How great are they! Not going to sit here and pretend I don’t have a new-found Confidence because I totally do! I’ve never felt so good! It’s amazing what a little lighting, posing and self-love can do! What do you all think?

Terry Richardson Style

I’d definitely be up for doing something like this again! If you like the above photos you can take a look at my website for more of my work, information and prices. Something like this would make a great Christmas Presents for your partner or even just a Great Confidence boost for you!

You can also take a look at Steff’s website here too!
