To anyone who knows me, you will know that I rarely leave the house without flawless make-up and perfectly groomed hair. Call it low self-esteem, lack of confidence or just wanting to look good. Either way, I thought this post would be a great way for you to take a look at my daily hair and beauty regime!

Growing up, we all made some bold decisions and a few bad mistakes when it came to hair and beauty. Do you remember the ‘Slag Lines’ as they were called? Those orange lines you’d somehow miss just underneath your chin. Or those long strands of hair you’d leave dangling down your forehead from tying your hair up. Eww. What about that light blue eye shadow you’d cover your eyelids in? Yeah, it’s safe to say I’ve definitely lived and learned when it comes to hair and beauty.

Now, at 23, I’ll admit, I’m still no expert (I still haven’t a clue how to contour!) and I learn new things about hair and beauty all the time. For instance, just last week, I finally learned how to create beach waves on my hair using just straighteners and hairspray. It’s friggin awesome! But, what I can say is that I finally know my skin and what looks right and what doesn’t. I now know my foundation colour match and I’m pretty confident with the liquid eye liner! It’s all about learning, experimenting and finding out who you are.

I genuinely believe that your appearance really says a lot about who you are!

Since decorating my room a few years back, I enjoy the little areas I’ve created with the little space I have. My beauty table is quite possibly my favourite. The 1950’s style chest of draws were a bargain at £35 from Botany Bay. I instantly fell in love with them! The wallpaper (Laura Ashley) is the first thing that I bought for my room and it set the entire theme. Every now and then, I add what I can afford to my beauty table and I love seeing it grow. I had to have a little tidy and reorganising for the photographs, but I’ve only displayed the items that I use on a daily basis;

Ok, so I’ll start of with my perfumes. I have so many perfumes that I adore. La Vie Est Belle by Lancome and Black Opium by YSL are two of those. Unfortunately, I don’t yet have them in my personal collection, although, working in a fragrance shop I can spray them on me whilst in work. But, I do hope to add them soon. However, my current collection consists of my other three favourites that I love. First, we have Hugo Boss, Orange, Eau de toilette which I’ve worn since high school. It always makes me think back to being young and carefree. It’s a very fresh and citrus-y smell that’s just divine. My mum and dad got me this bottle for Christmas. Next, we have Jimmy Choo by Jimmy Choo Eau de Parfam, my ULTIMATE FAVOURITE. It reminds me so much of my mum and it lasts all day! It’s a beautiful fragrance. Finally, we have the new Paco Rabanne, Olympea. This, again, is a fragrance I discovered whilst working at The Fragrance Shop. I’m in love with the bottle and it smells heavenly. I’m a massive fan of ‘sweet’ perfumes.

Moving onto my haircare range. I LOVE TRESemme! I’ve experimented with a few brands in the past but I find TRESemme does the right job for my hair. I have the 24 hour body root boosting spray which I tend to use of wet hair, after a shower, and it just adds volume to my hair once dried. I tend to struggle with ‘Flat hair’ a little, so this helps me out a lot. I couldn’t live without TRESemme hairspray. I use the Number 3 Salon Finish hairspray and once applied it not only holds my hair in place but it feels so light and smooth to touch that it’s hard to see if I’m actually wearing any hairspray at all. Although a little expensive, I would advise you to look around a few shops before buying a bottle as someplace, somewhere usually has offer’s on them. I like to use Batiste Dry Shampoo too for when my hair is getting a little too messy to handle. It’s great for that fresh, just washed look. Finally, I have my Toni & Guy Casual Sea Salt Spray. I saw this on a post Zoella did where she sprayed it onto her hair and it gave her that instant beach look. I once again fell in love with the look and decided to buy a bottle myself!

Next, we have skin care. I don’t tend to use a lot of products on my skin. I have fairly normal skin that never really requires too much attention to it. But, I have invested in just a few products. I have the Olay Essentials Cleansing Milk that I use on my face after washing my make-up off at night. I’ve been using it for around 3 weeks now and although I haven’t noticed a massive difference, I do feel better for applying it after washing my face. I like to use the Garnier Summer Body Moisturising Lotion when possible too. I don’t to use it as often as I should but as summer is fast approaching I might start using it again in my daily routine to add a little colour to my face and body. Finally, there’s the Bio Oil. Like most girls, I have the odd growth stretch mark, so when I was recommended this stuff from a friend I thought I’d give it a try. It can be a little expensive but I’ve heard some great reviews. I haven’t been using it for long so I can’t really give you a great review but, fingers crossed, if it’s as good as everyone says it is then I’ll be stretch mark free in no time!

Now it’s onto my nail varnishes. I do have a big bag full of nail varnishes stashed in my wardrobe that I never wear, so I decided to share with you the ones I do wear. You might have seen my previous post on ‘Gucci Nails’ I wrote. Well, they are my current favourites. But, as I also stated, I do like to wear the Rimmel 60 second nail varnishes too. I usually go for either reds or dark colours. It’s very rare you’ll see me in bright colours, so my nail varnish collection is pretty bland. I might brighten up my collection come summer. Also in my selection, we have nail varnishes from Maybeline, Barry M and OPI.

imageFor make-up, I like to wear MAC. To be honest, I haven’t experimented with many other brands, but from changing my foundation from Rimmel to MAC I have noticed a major difference. My skin looks so smooth and silky soft that I haven’t been able to turn back to highstreet brands since. I also used the MAC Studio Fix powder too as I just feel it adds that finishing touch to my face. Both the foundation and powder can last all day, it just usually needs a little touch up after around 6 hours. I use the Studio Fix Fluid NW20 foundation and I find it the perfect shade. For my bronzer and blusher, I use the Victoria’s Secret compact. I got the compact as a present a few years back from a friend and the eyeshadow, bronzer’s and blusher’s are amazing!

For my eyes, I like to do big flicks with my liquid eyeliner, so I knew I needed to invest in a good brush to do so. I have been using the Rimmel Scandaleyes for a few months now and I don’t think I could use anything else. The length and shape of the brush is perfect and it lasts for around 8 weeks, which is actually really good considering I use liquid eyeliner almost every day. I also like to use pencil eyeliner for definition of my eyes around my eyelids. The Rimmel London Exaggerate Pencil Eyeliner I use also has a sponge brush at the opposite end to smudge in the pencil for that bolder look. I tend to use this tool for more of a night-time look. My mascara is my most recent purchase. The Gucci Iconic Black, Opulent Volume Mascara…and its AMAZING! If you’re wanting long, sexy lashes then this is definitely your ticket. I promise you, you won’t be disappointed!

For eye shadow, I like to wear yet another Gucci product, the Amaretto, Magnetic Colour Shadow Duo. Priced at £38 it is a little on the expensive side, but, if you only tend to stick to just one shade then I think it’s definitely a must have splurge. It lasts all day, leaves no crease lines and has you showered in compliments all day! so, if you need a little pick me up then this is the beauty product to have!

Finally, my lip collection. Unfortunately, I don’t wear many lipsticks, as much as I love them. I suffer with dried lips a little and sometimes wearing too much lipstick and for too long can irritate them, so I tend to only wear lipsticks on nights out, party’s and fancy dinners. My two favourite and most used lipsticks that I own are both from MAC and they are the ‘Creme d’nude’ and ‘Retro Matte’. Both shades look beautiful on and last all night! In the day I like to wear the Maybeline Balm and Blush Flirty Pink as it gives my lips that natural, healthy looking shine, despite them being anything but. Wahh!!

Anyway, there you have my beauty table and it’s entire contents. You may have noticed Tanya Burr’s book being pride of place on there too. I’m a huge fan of hers and I take regular fashion and beauty inspiration and advice from her book all the time. She’s always there to brighten up a bad hair day or any self-hate moments I have. If you haven’t heard of Tanya Burr before then take a look at her wonderful world here! I think you’ll agree, she’s pretty cool.
