Blogmas | Day 19

Being a small part of the blogging community is amazing. I get to meet and talk to so many new people, attend some amazing events and take part in some of the most amazing opportunities. One of these was this years ‘Creative Bloggers Secret Santa’.

A few weeks back, I saw a post on the Creative Bloggers Facebook page, asking if any bloggers wanted to take part in this years ‘Secret Santa’. I’m always looking for new content to feature on the blog and considering I’d just decided to take part in Blogmas, I thought it’d make a great post. So, I agreed.

I had to fill out a form, detailing my name, age and address. My likes and dislikes and what I like most about Christmas. This was to give ideas and help my Secret Santa with my gift.

A few day’s later, I received my recipient and was sent a detailed gift brief via email;

– Include a Handmade gift –

– Include a gift suitable for your recipient with a minimum value of £3.00 –

– Include a Christmas Card and spread the Christmas spirit –

Soon enough, I had a few ideas in mind;

I decided that for my creative present, I’d make something that my recipient would like. Originally, I was going to make a book mark, because the girl I was buying for liked to read. I found some beautiful handmade book marks on Pinterest and was ready to get creative. However, on the day I went to pick up the materials needed to create it, the market stall was shut. I was on a timer and didn’t have time to look around for another shop. So, I moved onto Plan B. A decorative, handmade heart plaque. I know that they’re very popular to make these days, but every girl loves a plaque to hang up in their home. Plus, it’s a one-off. I think you’ll agree, it’s pretty great and I’m super impressed with it. My mum helped out massively as she’s just as, if not more, creative than me. The red adds that Christmassy touch to it as well. I hope my recipient loves it as much as me.

For my £3 minimum gift, I knew she liked beauty products and handmade soaps. I found my gift in Tesco. I wasn’t really looking at the time but I came across the beauty aisle and saw this beauty. It’s a collection of Body Butters from a brand called ‘Natural Extracts’. I was drawn in by its packaging. I love the rustic look and the string with the tag attracted me. Then I noticed the different body butters. Shea Butter, Coconut, Strawberry and Argan Oil. I thought this would be a perfect beauty gift that’ll last for a long time.

I then added a card to the parcel wishing my recipient a very Merry Christmas, a great 2017 and my blog details and social media account for her to keep in touch. Considering my budget, I’m very happy with my gifts and I really hope she likes them too. I look forward to receiving my Secret Santa gift within the next few days.

I’ll definitely be taking part in this again next year.

Sincerely, Sophie x
